A prayer wheel is a cylindrical device traditionally made from metal or wood, widely used in Tibet and Tibetan cultural areas. Inside the cylinder is a mantra scroll printed with repetitions of mantras such as 'Om mani padme hum' and others. Each rotation of the wheel by hand is equivalent in efficacy to reciting the mantra orally multiplied by the number of times it appears on the scroll.

How to use a prayer wheel effectively:

- Turning the Wheel: Rotate the prayer wheel clockwise with focused concentration of body, speech, and mind. This simple act yields profound meaning and benefits. It requires little physical effort and can be performed quickly.

- Merits of Turning: Each turn of the prayer wheel generates merit equivalent to reciting the mantras inside. This action activates and releases the power of the mantras, supported by Meditational Deities, Dakinis, and Dharma Protectors.

Prayer wheels can be used:

- During Meditation: Spin it during your daily meditation and mantra recitations.

- Group Practices: Use it in group spiritual practices for enhanced collective merit.

- Circumambulation: Rotate it while walking around a stupa or sacred place.

- Everyday Activities: It can be spun while engaged in activities like watching television or listening to music.

Benefits of using a prayer wheel:
- Divine Assistance: Meditational Deities, Dakinis, and Dharma Protectors assist practitioners.

- Blessings and Protection: Turning the prayer wheel swiftly brings blessings and guards against obstacles, negativity, and untimely deaths.

- Achievement of Aspirations: It acts like a precious jewel, fulfilling both supreme and ordinary attainments.

Turning a prayer wheel is a powerful spiritual practice that enhances one's spiritual path and brings profound blessings.
