Tibetan Copper Gau Box Amulet Pendant - Classic Mini Shrine Altar Ghau Gawu in Golden, Red Copper and Silver from Yachen Gar

This Copper Gau Box features a classic Tibetan design adorned with lotus, floral motifs, and a wish-fulfilling jewel ornament. It was designed and commissioned by Yachen Gar in Kham, Tibet.

Gau, also known as Gawu or Ghau in Tibetan, refers to an amulet box that holds precious objects such as small sculptures or relics. When filled with religious contents, these boxes are believed to protect the wearer and serve as portable shrines. The central window of the amulet often reveals a small statue or thangka.

Yachen Gar, also known as Yachen Orgyen Samten Choling, was founded by Akhyuk Rinpoche in 1980. It is home to over 10,000 Sangha members, making it one of the largest gatherings of nuns and monks in the world.
