Tibetan Copper Dragon Wish-Fulfilling Jewel Design Circular Gau Box Amulet Pendant: Mini Shrine Altar Ghau, Brass, Red Copper, Yachen Gar

This Copper Gau Box features a classic Tibetan design with double dragons and wish-fulfilling jewel ornaments, commissioned by Yachen Gar in Kham, Tibet. The back of the Gau is adorned with a double vajra and the conch emblem of Yachen Gar.

Gau, also known as Gawu or Ghau, is the Tibetan term for an amulet box that holds precious objects such as small sculptures or relics. An amulet box filled with religious contents protects the wearer and serves as a portable shrine. The central window of the amulet usually reveals a small statue or thangka.

Yachen Gar, also known as Yachen Orgyen Samten Choling, was founded by Akhyuk Rinpoche in 1980. With more than 10,000 Sangha members, it is one of the largest gatherings of nuns and monks in the world.
